This is something I’m sure that every writer has fought through before. You have ideas flowing through your mind and you want nothing more than to put them down to paper but you just can’t for one reason or another. For me, it is always me telling myself I don’t have enough time right now to write or that it has been too long since I have written.

Part of the reason that this blog exists is to help conquer my ever present writer’s block. I struggle with anxiety, which I’m positive has its role to play in writer’s block, and part of my anxiety is making excuses, such as lack of time or frequency of writing. I’m hoping that this blog becomes a tool to take away some of those excuses. Not enough time to work on my novel? Write a blog post instead. Haven’t written in a while? Post to the blog.

Any helpful suggestions for writer’s block? Let’s get a conversation started in the comments!

Okay, this isn’t any help, but writer’s block is worse for me. Sometimes, it’s not even that you don’t have time or that you don’t feel like it.

This is still an excuse, but I’ll feel like it and be in front of my laptop, and likely a result of over-analysis, I will have complete “constipation of the imagination.” Simply nothing comes out. There may be too many ideas or not enough, but this often the case.

Again, not really any help, but I did want to get this out.

    Cheers!

    1. “Constipation of the imagination” is an apt name for it!
