Despite not being overly active on the site, I have been hard at work on a few writing projects. The first of the new projects is called Haven Lost: Eternal Vigilance and it is available to read right now on the site!

If you’ve had the chance to look around the site, there’s a good chance the name Haven Lost has popped up before. For those that are unaware, Haven Lost is the title of my upcoming novel. For a synopsis of the novel, check out the Novels page of the site.

Eternal Vigilance is the first in a planned anthology of short stories examining the Haven system in the years before the events of Haven Lost. One of the key events that occurs before Haven Lost is the devastating interplanetary war between the neighboring planets of Dawn and Dusk in the Haven Star System. Over the course of the anthology, we will meet an assortment of characters on both sides of the war and see how the war shaped their lives and the worlds around them. Some of these characters will even go on to play major roles in the events of Haven Lost, such as the main character of Eternal Vigilance.

Haven Lost: Eternal Vigilance is about the opening shots of the war and focuses around a young executive officer named Grey Dynast on board the Dawn Space Force Starship Vigilant. After a surprise attack by the Dusk Imperial Navy, Grey and the crew of the Vigilant have to find a way to survive against seemingly impossible odds.

Later this week I will be posting a “Making of Haven Lost: Eternal Vigilance“. It is my goal to share with you the process that goes into writing one of these stories, including all the research and planning. I have touched upon these topics in the past a little bit, but hopefully by showing you the steps I go through to actually bring a story from concept to completion you can get an idea of what author do to bring their visions to fruition.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy reading Haven Lost: Eternal Vigilance as much as I enjoyed writing it. It is undeniably my favorite work that I’ve written so far and I hope that you can see the passion that I’ve put into it! The Haven Lost universe is an exciting playground for me to write in and I look forward to exploring it with you in this series of short stories!
